Seizing the Future: FleishmanHillard Presents International Study on Women’s Power in the Marketplace

It’s the fifth wave of the landmark study Women, Power & Money, published by FleishmanHillard with Ipsos MediaCT. This is the first year the research has reached beyond U.S. borders to include data from Germany, UK, France and China. The study provides brands with an in-depth view of women as highly-influential consumers and leaders of their households, and examines differences between Gen Y, Gen X and Boomers, as well as differences between nationalities.

The review of the research will examine her:

Satisfaction: she is satisfied, particularly with family, home and leisure; however, the satisfaction patterns differ by generation

Self-image: women in Germany describe themselves with positive, socially-oriented terms (helpful, friendly, and trustworthy), which is different than how U.S. women describe themselves (independent, knowledgeable, successful)

Competences: she perceives a variety of strengths relative to men (home, emotional strength, shopping, technology and business)

Shopping behavior: she dominates daily spending; however, she is an equal partner in determining “big ticket” purchases

It’s never been more crucial for marketers to understand how to reach and engage with this important audience. The study provides insight into the factors driving women’s purchase decisions across a range of product and service categories, and how these vary by country and generation.
